Vestre Relocates Headquarters to the Former Veterinary College

Linstow has signed a lease agreement with the furniture manufacturer Vestre AS, which will relocate its headquarters to the historic premises of the former Veterinary College (Den gamle Veterinærhøgskolen) at Adamstuen in Oslo. Toward 2040, the area will be developed to include public services, new housing, attractive workplaces, and facilities that will make it the heart of the neighborhood.

“We are very pleased to welcome Vestre to the former Veterinary College. Vestre is a perfect fit for our ambitions for the area, and we share a common philosophy centered on sustainability, reuse, respect for historical qualities, and a desire to contribute to vibrant urban life and inclusive public spaces. Without a doubt, Vestre will be a valuable contributor to the community we are building at Adamstuen,” says Knut Løken, CEO of Linstow.

As Scandinavia’s leading producer of long-lasting, high-quality urban furniture, Vestre has a strong design and sustainability profile. With growth planned in the years ahead, the company will establish its new headquarters in the distinguished former Veterinary Institute building on General Birchs gate (Building 5). This is a heritage-listed building with a strong identity and significant historical value. The building will be upgraded in close collaboration with the Oslo City Antiquarian, with great respect for its original architectural qualities.

In the meantime, Vestre will move into temporary premises in the same area, at Ullevålsveien 68 (Building 8), starting August 2025.

“Vestre’s new headquarters will be part of an exciting neighborhood development project in Oslo, fully aligned with our strategy and future ambitions. We look forward to being part of a vibrant and inclusive Adamstuen, where we can preserve a protected building and contribute to renewal at the same time,” says Bjørn Fjellstad, CEO of Vestre.

Vestre has been creating social meeting places for more than 75 years, and its urban furniture is already present in the outdoor spaces of the former Veterinary College — enjoyed by tenants, neighbors, and visitors alike.
